IAI aims to bring new ideas in the arts to the wider public through festivals and regular weekly events. We are looking for someone to assist the events team in programming, organising and promoting arts events at the Globe at Hay. With a monthly programme of art exhibitions, talks, workshops and live music as well as a number of larger-scale festivals which attract thousands of visitors, there is scope for somebody to take on a great deal of responsibility and gain valuable arts management experience.
In conjunction with your role at the IAI, you will be involved in the programming and coordination of a variety of events at the Square in Bristol. The events range from comedy and cultural evenings, arts auctions, to parties and entertainment.
This is a challenging and varied opportunity that will really open doors for a graduate who is keen to start a career in the arts or events. The role is based in Bristol and Hay-on-Wye. All applicants should have an excellent education background, a keen interest in and knowledge of arts and culture in general, and will need to hold a current driving licence. Experience of putting on events and/or promotion and marketing will obviously be an advantage. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate project management, journalistic and PR skills. Accommodation in Hay will be provided for free.
Closing Date: 10/10/2010
CV and Covering Letters should be sent to jobs@tvf.co.uk with ‘Arts and Events Trainee’ as the subject heading.
